Perception is Everything, Inc. was founded by Chief Executive Officer, Clover Henry-Gilroy, based upon her experience denying employment to skilled candidates who applied for an open position and/or appeared for an interview uninformed, unprepared and devoid of presentation.  They were not aware of the social and professional requirements of the job search in today's very competitive market .  Our goal is to guide low-income job seekers in obtaining the skills and information necessary for a successful job search. This is accomplished by engaging, empathising and gently correcting habits and speech patterns through an array of seminar worshops covering topics that are critical in seeking employment.  These workshops are listed on our "Seminars" sub-page.

ABOUT US

Clover Henry-Gilroy has had a successful career in business administration, recruiting, training, event and facilities management, human resources, information systems and marketing.  For years, Clover has wanted to improve the employment status of the underprivileged.  Her varied skills have proven successful in developing best practices in  job search and interviewing techniques. Working with Daniel Gilroy, Clover has been able to fulfill her dream by offering free seminar workshops and instructing candidates in areas where they lack information, preparation, articulation and presentation.

Daniel Gilroy graduated from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Public Relations. He is currently a systems engineer who plays a vital role in our network infrastructure and  technology and telecommunications purchases and upgrades.  As a member of the Board of Directors, he contributes to the shaping of the ideals of Perception is Everything, Inc. Most importantly, he conducts English Grammar and Business Communications sessions, directly contributing to the empowerment of our clients.

Barbara Cottrell
     Director

Barbara Cottrell, President of The Cottrell Group Inc. (TCGI), has over 34 years of business experience including 20 years as a consultant.  With an engineering degree from Michigan State University, she has placed her emphasis on business applications and operational improvements, with much of her hands-on application at Florida Power & Light Company, which included being an internal consultant to the holding company staff of FPL Group, and to the other non-utility subsidiary companies.  With both her engineering and business education and experience, she has been able to flex into a variety of industries at all levels, including citrus, utilities, insurance, healthcare, transportation, finance, public entities and non-profit organizations.  Her goals are to help client organizations become learning organizations, to create active problem solvers by providing training, facilitation and consulting services.   Her skills include data-driven problem solving, process management and process redesign, organization assessments, and customer-focused strategic planning.

 

Barbara shares her talents with four non-profit organizations: Perception is Everything, as a Board Member, Student Aces as a training facilitator, the Northern Palm Beaches Chamber of Commerce’s ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival as Chair Emeritus, and her home church, Hope Lutheran.  She is a former Senior Lead Examiner with the State of Florida Governor’s Sterling Award.
